Oracle Lighting is an innovator in LED technology, we create lighting solutions for consumers in the automotive, marine, commercial building, and residential construction markets. We are a team of 30 full time members located outside of New Orleans, LA. Our area was one of the first national COVID-19 “hot spots” and we saw record cases as hospitals filled with patients and resources became limited.
Our founder saw an immediate need to help by procuring and donating PPE to hospital workers who were in desperate need of masks. “We wanted to do whatever we could to support those medical professionals on the front lines battling this pandemic as New Orleans was, at that time, one of the most affected communities in the country,” said Justin Hartenstein, Oracle Lighting founder. “Oracle Lighting works with several companies outside of the United States and these partners have more available sources of PPE than we have here in the U.S.”
Because PPE was more obtainable in other countries, Oracle Lighting asked our overseas partners for assistance by procuring PPE on our behalf and sending to the US with Oracle Lighting’s inbound international shipments.
With this program we were able to donate over 1,500 N95 masks and 1,000 surgical masks to Tulane Medical Center and other hospitals through "Supplies for Saints", a non-profit group that is managed the collection of PPE for local hospitals. We also began a campaign to encourage other companies in our industry to consider procuring available PPE from their suppliers and donate to those who are in desperate need for adequate protective equipment.
We were happy to help support front line workers but, as for many US small businesses, as the pandemic grew our sales shrunk as the economy slowed and our business suffered.
Being a true innovator, our founder pivoted and redirected Oracle’s resources into developing an anti-virus device utilizing UV lighting technology. The result was the "A.I.R. Device" (Antimicrobial Irradiation Respirator) the World's first UV face mask. The Ultraviolet Irradiation produced from specialized UV-C LEDs protects the user wearing the A.I.R. by inactivating bacteria, pathogens, and Viruses- including COVID19.
This multi-patent pending innovation has gained global attention for its unique and effective anti-viral design. “We are all familiar with the CDC statement: ‘Your mask protects me; my mask protects you’- the AIR Solo provides protection against viruses for both the user and others.” stated Justin Hartenstein, inventor of the product. “Immunocompromised individuals cannot simply rely on others to respect their health safety; the A.I.R Device provides benefits to the user while also sanitizing outgoing air to protect others. While this product is beneficial for high-risk individuals, it is for anyone going into a higher-risk environment such as public transportation, flying, or even for simply going to the grocery store.”
The A.I.R Device is now in production and plans are already in place to make donations of this new Anti-Viral technology to front line workers who can most benefit from this additional layer of virus protection.
