Important Fitment Note for 2026 Jeep Wrangler JL

Jeep revised the rear bumper for the 2026 model year. On 2026 models, the rear access opening used to remove the factory reflector nut and install the ORACLE retaining screw is no longer present. Installation on 2026 vehicles requires removing the rear bumper. Plan for additional time, tools, and a second person to help lower and position the bumper.

Because of normal variation in factory bumpers, minor trimming or clearancing may be needed on some vehicles for a flush fit.

2026 Wrangler JL: Bumper Removal Required

1. Remove the lower inner fender liners for access to the bumper mounting hardware.
2. Remove the 4 bumper mounting bolts (16mm).
3. Remove the 4 bumper mounting nuts (16mm). A 16mm ratcheting box end wrench is recommended - a socket and ratchet will not fit the upper nut.
4. Disconnect the rear park assist sensor connector (if equipped).
5. Disconnect the 16-pin tow harness connector (if equipped).
6. Remove the rubber hitch cover (if equipped) for added clearance.
7. With a helper, pull the bumper rearward and rotate it to clear the rear tires. Protect painted surfaces during removal.
8. Install the reverse lights per the standard instructions, then reinstall the bumper and reconnect all connectors.
